New Cost-effective Analog Brushless DC Motor Controls from LCR Electronics Ideal for Numerous High-reliability Applications

Analog Brushless DC Motor Controls from LCR Electronics Ideal for Numerous High-reliability ApplicationsNorristown, Pa. July 2009 - LCR Electronics, a leading manufacturer of EMI filters and electronic products as well as high-end enclosures for military, telecom and commercial applications, has just released two new analog brushless DC motor controls ideal for use in three-phase brushless DC motors typically found in high-reliability environments.

The cost-effective boards feature simple user interfaces, making the EC105 and low voltage EC107 ideal for portable and space-constrained applications such as commercial tools, appliances and small traction systems.

Each board features a potentiometer for speed command, a toggle switch for direction, and a tact switch for fault reset, which provides precise, variable control of motor speed using the motor's hall effect sensors for feedback.

The EC105 and EC107 from LCR Electronics use a trapezoidal two-quadrant control technique and include soft start, resettable overload detection as well as an optional coating for humid or wet environments.  The analog brushless DC motor control systems operate at a temperature range of 0°C to 85°C. Introduction of a four-quadrant control version is planned for late 2009.

The EC105 has an input of 120/240 VAC and a 3 A maximum load current, which is upgradable to a maximum of 20 A.  Its output is 150/300 VDC.  The EC107 has an input of 12/24 VDC and a load current of 5 A maximum, which is also upgradable to a maximum of 20 A.

Both controls offer RoHS compliance, optional EMI compliance, quick turn-around time to get products to market faster and the quality, reliability and competitive pricing included with all LCR Electronics products.

Pricing for an EC105 starts at $75 per unit in quantities of 1,000.  Pricing for an EC107 starts at $50 per unit in quantities of 1,000.  Delivery is typically eight weeks ARO.
